Featured Brewing System:
YAKIMA BREWING & MALTING CO. PLANT EQUIPMENT
COMPLETE 40 BARREL PLANT
We are pleased to offer the entire former plant equipment of Yakima
Brewing & Malting Company, maker of Bert Grant's ales, which
closed in 2005. This is a virtually complete 40 barrel production
brewery with substantial capacity. The plant features a traditional
solid copper, direct fired 40 barrel brew kettle built by master
coppersmiths Vendome Copper & Brass Works of Louisville, KY.
The fermentation cellar is well stocked with 1,000+ bbls of Mueller
cylindroconical fermenters of 50 to 150 barrels capacity.
Preferential treatment will be accorded inquiries seeking a substantially
complete plant equipment package. The packaging line will be offered
separately and includes a tunnel pasteurizer and bottle CO2 pre-purger.
Inspection may be arranged at the plant in Yakima, WA by appointment.
Sales of cellar tanks separately will be subordinate to the sale
of any brewhouse and cellar combination.
Bert Grant (1928-2001) was a Northwest brewing icon who launched the
first successful microbrewery in the Pacific Northwest.
His influence on the craft brewing industry has been sweeping, and
he was the brewing renaissance pioneer of highly hopped beers including
Grant's Scottish Ale and Grant's India Pale Ale that were the precursors
of today's popular highly hopped beers.
